Sarah never expected that her quick stop at a Tractor Supply store would change her life.

She met Sunny, a duck unlike any other, with a fluffy feather top on his head and a bright personality that matched his name.

Despite his unique appearance, this little duck found a family who loved him just as he was and brought happiness wherever he went.

Alone in the Corner

Sunny has a feather poof on his head. It looks so adorable. But it is sad that he is noticeably always alone.

“Ducklings normally group together and huddled together, but they would always leave Sunny out and he would always be in a corner by himself,” Sarah said, sharing how Sunny had trouble growing and didn’t fit in with the other ducklings.

With that, Sarah knew she couldn’t leave without him.

Sunny’s Case

It turns out that the poof on his head is a genetic mutation. According to the vet, Sunny has an upper respiratory infection because he sounds wheezy, and his eyes water a lot.

Finding out that Sunny is also completely blind in his left eye makes Sarah care for him more.

Extra Love and Care

With lots of love, medicine, and cuddles, Sunny began to grow strong.

The vet verified that their special care helped Sunny avoid what was almost a certainty that he wouldn’t be alive today.

Friends on the Farm

As time went on, Sunny made friends with the other animals on the farm.

They could tell Sunny was gentle and didn’t mind him joining in for food or a nap.

His happy spirit started to brighten up everyone’s day.

Family Ties

Sarah and her family also became very close to Sunny.

When he accidentally bumped into Sarah while walking around, he found her hand or leg, leaned on it, and fell asleep.

A Friend Just Like Him

Then something amazing happened: Sarah learned about another duck just like Sunny, living only a short drive away.

They decided to introduce the two, and Sunny finally had a duck friend who understood him.

These two blind ducks had fun in their own special way.
