Echo was a beagle who had never seen the world outside the lab, where she was kept for six long years.

Experiments were part of her daily life in this lab in China. But the day came when she was given a chance to know a world full of kindness and care.

The Fateful Rescue

Echo was found still and quiet in a crate, unlike the other dogs, who were excited to be free. That’s when gentle hands from the Beagle Freedom Project came to her rescue.

She was one of the twenty-five dogs they saved that day, but many more like her are still waiting in labs all over the world.

Fostered Life

The first person to care for Echo after her rescue showed her what kindness felt like.

When she fell asleep in her foster mom’s arms, it was a sign that Echo was beginning to trust humans.

Losing her sight because of the tests in the lab didn’t stop Echo.

She was scared of the new world around her, especially walking on grass, but with time and love, she started to find her way.

First Tail Wag

The moment Echo wagged her tail for the first time was a victory. It showed that she was starting to feel happy.

A Forever Home

When Echo was adopted, she finally had a family to call her own. Her new owners knew that she needed extra care, and they were ready to give her all the love she deserved.

Learning and Playing

In her new home, Echo started to experience many ‘firsts’ – like walking on grass and feeling like she was part of a family.

Her owners watched her become more confident and playful every day.
